Wiks Slott

Wiks Slott Castle
On Friday afternoon Kelsey and I decided to take a trip to Wiks Slott (pronounced Viks Slott) a 15th century castle located south of Uppsala city center. This beautiful castle is now a conference center and hotel but it's surrounded by a lovely nature park. When we first arrived it was bit eerie. Mist was falling from the sky, no one else was around, heard voices, keys jingling and music playing but did not see anyone....

 Inside the Hotel:

After looking around the Castle and in the Hotel we decided to explore the Nature Park.

The Lake!

The Land!
Trying to get a picture of ourselves.

My future home.
After some walking around Kelsey and I stumbed upon several Apple Trees!
In Sweden you can pick fruit from any tree or bush you find!

Best Apples EVER.

Picking...

Picking...

and more picking.

As we were making our way back to the Castle to catch the bus we came across an Art school tucked back in the woods. Full of curiosity, we poked our heads around and saw some really beautiful art.
Art Studio.

Art in the making.

What a wonderful adventure!
